ice skating

Although I had been here for almost 2 years now, this is the first time i went ice-skating.

the last time i skated? Never.

Before I had the chance to experience ice-skating at Bukit Jambul, they decided to go bankrupt and didn't give me a chance to do so.

though i clumsily roller-blade at home when i was young, i never went anywhere beyond 50m mark.

it's sad, i know. owh well.

originally planned as a farewell party to some of my co-workers who are studying abroad, it ended up with only 3 of us who attended.

the top workers in commom's : me, mary and jill

cannot blame others also la, WHO THE HELL SEND THE INVITATION 2 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT?

nevertheless, we had fun.

as least my friends did.

cuz i fell very sia-suily, and ridiculously so many times that I have lost count...

and they had to ask, "which time that she fell were you talking about?"

anddd, surprise surprise, who is the talk of the cafe now?

....

i don't see the fun of skating round and round the ring, but yeah, it's somewhat, addictive.

yes, my butt ached like hell the next day.

and since then, i lose stability even when i am just walking on normal pavement; i fell the next day again, on the icy road....

butt, i had a pretty amazing experience (not the falling down part, but the ice skating part) =)

and owh, who would have thought that's much more to offer in bloomington than just a shopping mall and beautiful sceneries...

it's winter break ya'll! cheers!

whoa.

yea, i know, this pic appeared for like gazillion times on my blog. don't have to remind me that.

you know why?

cuz i haven't meet them for more than a year now. and as for corrinne, make it two.

thanksgiving break is over.

did i had a good break? i don't know.

was it a bad one? i don't know.

what i do know is, starting tomorrow, i shall be MIA for 10 days, scratching my brains off working on a business case, in hope of pushing my grades up. wayy wayy up.

in the meantime, i am:
  • craving for macedonia nut white chocolate cookies
  • thinking what to do for winter
  • planning whether should i go back in summer
  • still craving for cookies....
ciao, people!

it's been quite some time, pardon me for being busy.

"As long as you are happy, everyday can be your birthday."
-quote, mom

we wait 364 days just to feel happy and special, annd owh, not forget to mention, to feel old?

no way.

i'mma make everyday of my life my birthday.

so yes, ah moi has officially turned 19. one more year and i'll hit the BIG20.

in a way i can't wait to reach 21 and hit the bars, but at the same time i can't believe that i am almost 20.

how freaky it is. to dream about being a young and helpless kid, and having to wake up and face reality that u are flying solo now.

whoooo......

nehoos, no time and patience for me to drag on this nonsense, and old rule applies, i shall let the pictures do the talking.

-sneaky sneaky-

May dearest

"Remember....
Don't over drink and do all things MODERATELY.
Happiness always." -quote, MOM

Oh my, now I am giving everyone an impression that:-

  1. I drink a lot.
  2. I party too much.
  3. I do not know how to control myself.

..........

Puh-lease.

  • I haven't drink any alcoholic drinks for the past 6 days.
  • I didn't even party on Halloween. I slept at 9pm.
  • I managed to resist temptation on buying that bar of candy, and I forced myself to the gym.

So, now, I will smack any son of a gun who thinks I am a wild party cougar.

I am still a naive, innocent me. *fingers crossed*

Thank you.

no, no go away

the weather has been pretty chilly lately.

and i am surrounded with sick people lately.

sick people in class. sick people at work.

heck, my roomie is sick herself.

NO. I WOULD NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO BE.

sick during your own birthday is so pathetic.

i shall take good care of myself.

the world thru my mind

it never occurs to me, the real definition of my blog title.

the world thru my mind. maybe i am being too rational.

it's time to change, to view the world thru your heart.

blame it on pms, i don't care. i am experiencing the most absurd fluctuation of feelings lately.

emo, they said.

probably. with exam barely over for a week, we are back to square one, picking up where we left, and hop hop off we go again.

how sad. other people are enjoying their fall break. i'm just asking you to take it slower.

bah, back to the hectic life. same old, same old.

but at the same time, i am having a fresh new perspective on human nature lately.

it amazes me how individuals, humans can be so different from one another.

how people can do some things, or even react in the most unimaginable way.

ah, fascinating.

i see how people can be so selfish, so introvert, so smart, so childish, so innocent, so cunning, so mature, so likable, so kind, so irritating, so mean, so shallow, so knowledgeable....

so amazing.

although i know everyone is different, it never occurred to me this way, and most of all, it never affects how i feel this much.

owh well, i guess all these 'emo' ness is my pms talking.

on a second thought, i am wondering what kind of person am i projecting to other people?

and most importantly, what kind of person do i want people to know me as?

any thoughts to share?

with our dear malaysian neighbor, the indons!

no, not the indon maids.

but loaded indon kids who party hardcore.

although I ave to work the next day, I seem to be coping pretty well.

in case u miss out my facebook...

never once did i ever thought about wearing a man's shirt would create such controversy.

no, this is not the shirt of some random guy that i slept with; this is MY shirt, k?
say as much as u like, i think i look pretty, nice in it.

LOL.

don't, just don't, mess with me.

cheers!

p/s: ishh, less than 5 hours till exam and i am still heree....

Sunday, October 5, 2008

hey, i may have lost weight after all!

the deep dimple is a sign!!! =)

Monday, September 29, 2008

random thoughts:

1. i regret......

.... not clubbing in UK.

2. i feel like making my blog a private one, but that won't give chance to others to get to know me right? not fair eh? so i am now known as ah moi, instead of my real name.

3. shit, exams this weekend... why am i doing here???

4. i read some random facts online;
  • turtles, can breathe through their BUTTS
  • goodbye, comes from "god by", which actually means god be with you
  • rats are incapable of puking
  • it may be good to be pigs; their orgasms last for 30 minutes
5. none of the random facts are coming out in my exams, but apparently i remember them clearly than my class materials.

ciao!

life.

sometimes, i am jealous of my friends.

as long as their parents give them the greenlight to buy something, they'll just go and get it.

want a car? want the new handbag? want to travel the world?

as long as their parents gave the nod of approval, they just go for it, without having to worry about any consequences, any limits, any resposibility.

as for me, asking for something relatively expensive will never get an definite answers from my parents.

they never say 'NO'. they never say 'YES' either.

they just say: 'you yourself know how to spend the money wisely'

in other words, 'IF U DECIDE TO SPEND THIS MONEY U BETTER MAKE SURE IT IS WELL SPENT AND YOU GET THE VERY BEST DEAL U COULD GRAB'
-i have to bear the responsibility for myself. i will have to pay for the consequences of my spending, i would have to control my own limits.

so, unlike my friends who can spend their parents money without guilt, i can't.

it's not my parents will not give me the money for it, it is because i know what my folks' monetary statements are like, and spending every single penny of it does not feel good at all.

ah, how i wish i could just spend and get whatever i want and just leave all the financial burden to my parents.

it kinda bothers me for a while, especially when i am hanging out with very, very loaded friends now.

that is, until i had a talk with an american colleague of mine; who said she had been financialy independent since she was 15.

'I START PAYING MY OWN BILLS EVER SINCE I GOT A JOB AT 15. IT'S NOT THAT I COME FROM A POOR FAMILY, BUT WITH FOUR CHILDREN TO SEND TO COLLEGE, WE JUST HAVE TO MAKE SOME SACRIFICES'

why am i complaining again?

illegally drunk

So amidst all those not enough time that i am experiencing, I found some time to do some networking, or what I like to call - "socializing"

McKinsey & Company's South East Asia region sent a batch of 4 brilliant representatives to the Midwest area, and proud to say, my dear uni is one of the lucky few ones that they visited.

they have this exclusive event for MALAYSIANS and INDONESIANS who are studying overseas, so this event is pretttty, pretty exclusive, and owh, exciting.

having the chance to be part of the organizing team is then of course, beyond words.

and after the little infosession that they had, we had a very very luxurious dinner, and an unforgettable post-dinner party.

what we are celebrating?

apparently among other universities that they visited, ours by far has the best response, most organized, and of cuz, the best entertainments. =)

i shall not talk more, as i bet it is getting boring, so i shall let the pictures open your minds instead.

waitress preparing our omigahhh dessert

the fab three organizers: me who did nothing much, yoana the indonesian student association president, mien dee the grad student who generally did everything

nadim, the McKinsey represensative, who is also a Brown alum (impresssivveee)

the 'cool' table, with tse wen in white shirt, a mckinsey consultant, who is also a dartmouth alum

the marvelloussss dessert.......

the post dinner party, with the impressivee McKinsey people

a little explanation of what we are doing: drinking game - sink a glass

see the bucket in the middle? it is filled with beer, then a glass will be dropped into the bucket, and everyone around the table has to pour beer from their own cup into the glass. whoever 'sinks' the glass while pouring the beer into it have to drink the glass of beer in the bucket.

it's something like a musical chair. very brilliant, and pretty tough.

it is tough, and to make things worse, i am sitting next to professionals who play this game like everyweek.

the verdict? i lost and drank 8 glasses of beer.

the pro who made me drink 8 glasses

it was already 1 am when we hit the bars, and so we didn't have much time to finish our last 2 buckets of beer.

what to do? we had a beer drinking relay.

in total? i drank 2 more huge plastic cups of beer on top of the 8 glasses.

and did i said drank? by drank i meant GULP in, like seriously.

and owh no, getting kicked out from the bar doesn't kill the fun; we went bar hopping instead.

and to properly end the night, i gulped another full plastic cup of i-have-no-clue-blue-shit-liquor

yeah babe. there u go. my first so-called business 'social' event. i was scared that i couldn't get into the pubs cuz i am almost 19 but since i was in my business attire and the fact that i hang out with old people and it was wednesday night and it was pretty late...

the aftermath? hilarious. i am not gonna talk much (since the fact that my parents and siblings and cousins and aunty uncles may be reading this blog and create unnecessary rumors)...

but this is what happened:

the 3 organizers were tipsy and i was drunk and i ended up holding the toilet seat and puke all night and spent the night at mien dee's place and barely had 2 hours of sleep and completely clueless on what happened the last night and if you don't understand it is better cuz i am not saying anyting more than this.

have fun people, till i have a spark in my boring life to report to yall.
