still homeless...

but i have got pretty much all of my stuffs for my new house... i just can't wait till we move in, then i'm gonna pimp it up, make it as homely as possible, and start a brand new semester....

and so, my very first semester in IU has end... result was out; i did pretty good, i guess... but when i come to think of it, i should have done better... yea, blame it after the result is out...

it's not that my result is not good enough, but when i see others who get better results, the kia-suism arose, and yes, that kinda make me sad....

well, if they were those nerdy geeks who get 4 flats, i rest my case... seeing those fucking freaks who play ps3 all the time, and bragging how easy the subject is while making others feel so stupid... when i see these bitches get better result than me, owh yeah... i am jealous....

i guess i just have to work harder next time, i guess i have to be more alert next time, i guess i have to put more effort next time...

yeah right, as if i never did that.....

owh well, i guess that is just life. life = never fair.

and just when i thought the feng shui at my house should have turn to the better, it somehow got worse...

hell yeah, life. life = never fair.

i am hopeful, i am faithful, and i am a believer.....

but at the same time, i am sick and tired, and numb....

bbahhh..... just ignore me... it's the winter blues...

merry christmas, and happy holidays people.

homeless...

for the next couple of weeks, i will be homeless... literally...

i have been staying at my friend's place for a day, and there are 3-4 more days to go before heading down to New York, where i will stay in my other friend's house...

so what have i been doing ever since the break officially starts?

packing, sleep depriving, furniture hunting, cleaning, eating, negotiating, head-aching.......

and owh, it has been snowing for two days now...

snow is awesome, snow is pretty, snow is marvelous....

that is, if it isn't that FREAKING COLD! (as i am writing this, it is -4 degrees out there...)

i would enjoy the snow for a couple of days, before i get sick and tired of it (which i think i am.. :C )

i had been packing and moving for my new crib... and so far, i have a bed and a couch left that i need to get...

as for the bed i have 2 candidates here... and i may need ur help (though i doubt there will be any responds...)

but here, help me choose a bed will ya?

selling with a couch for $50

selling for $50, the bed alone..

i like the second one, since it is more like a proper bed (compared to the first one where it is just a mattress..)

but here's the dilemma, i don't know where to store the bed before i move into my apartment!!!

headache ahh....

goodluck, and goodbye....

they packed, and they left.....

sometimes, separation does not come easy...

this is the end of the semester for them, but not for me...

as a matter of fact, it is just the beginning of my new, uncertain journey...

it happened all the time - just when you are about to appreciate something, and before you know it, it has come to an end...

and though i reminded myself all the time to appreciate everything, every moment, but my ignorance blinded me, covered me with fear and anxiousness, until the very last moment....

i'm beginning to like my dorm, but as they all leave for holiday break, i am packing to a new place as well...

and the new semester, will never be the same again....

i will miss them.. <3

-two more papers to go, and.... MERRY CHRISTMAS! =)

thou do not belong here....

yet procrastination and laziness had blinded me and led me to this evil-addictive scene.....

i know, i know, Finals starts like, TOMORROW, and i know i should be studying... but, then, i need time to rest too, don;t i? xP

and some random thought just hit me.... this fall semester is coming to an end! although i was the one wanting it to end as soon as i got here, but somehow, when it is really coming to an end, it does not feel like how i use to want it to be.....

instead of feeling excited, i feel freaky, and at the same time, sad, (yea, u read it right, SAD) that this whole thing is ending... cuz believe it or not, i think i am just about to start enjoying it..... and time has passed freakingly FAST!

nevertheless, i do still look forward for the break, where i can finally take a deep breath, and have a proper rest after all these messed up sleep cycle that i am going through lately... not to mention... NEW YORK! whee....

and owh, less than a week left for me to stay in my dorm... which means i got to start packing now... and appreciate the last days of staying in the dorm (which surprise, surprise, i began to like...)

to people who are having finals like me....

ALL THE BEST! =D

new york, new york...

i know i should be doing my homework/revision/what-ever shit that i have to do now....

but instead of doing my boring homework/revision that will end up me dozing off later, i might as well do something, ehem, productive eh?

so i just came back from chicago... thanksgiving is over, and now i ma back to reality, with the fact that finals is indeed 2 weeks away... (owh wait, winter break is 2 weeks away, not finals...)

anyways, since a couple of my friends are going back to malaysia this break, i am bound to find my own activity for this winter....

and the last thing i want to do is to be stuck here in Boring Bloomington for 3 weeks..... (unless i can move into my apartment earlier...)

and since my friend who stays in New York offers me to stay at her place... what excuse do i have to turn down the good offer?? (free accommodation and potential free food.... WHY NOT??? =D)

sometimes, i do feel bad about spending all these money and indulging myself in these tours, especially when my friends are working, restraining themselves from experiencing all these because it costs money and all kind of excuses to make me feel even bad to spend.....

but then, on the other hand, i am glad to have this opportunity to go to these places and experience the true american culture.... (i keep reminding myself that since i am working next semester and then i will earn the money that i had spent.....)

so when i go back to malaysia, i will haveinteresting stories that can proudly tell other people about my stay in the United States....

i am living in my american dream, and am enjoying every single moment out of it... =)

NEW YORK!!! HEEEERRREEE IIII COOOMMMEEE!!! =)

and HELLO, HELLO to finals.....

don't miss me, and wish me luck! >.<

My ebay parcel...... My jacket! =D

it's a white Nike puff-down jacket that i bought through ebay, and it is my 2nd item that i get through ebay....

and it arrived just in time for me to bring it to chicago....

on saturday morning, CHICAGO here we come!!! ...=)

wwwwhhhheee......

in the car, on the way...

she is sleeping, i am kacau-ing...

she is driving, i am cam-whoring....

the been-to-chicago-for-god's-sake-how-many-timer... hahhahaha

still on the road...

i see something...

the early sights of chicago.....

and after meeting my friend's sister, we went to walk around....

MORE PICS OF CHICAGO THAT I AM LAZY TO DESCRIBE ABOUT

and the night i went to Penang for the first time...

and the Hokkien Mee (which they call it as Mee Udang... -_-")

AND THE PRESSIES SIS HAS BEEN WAITING FOR...

(sis, i have a couple more clothes that is among the stuffs in the pic below that i think u may like, but before letting u choose it, i will use test wear it first yea.. heheh... =D)

and the following pic describes the stuffs that i had bought during the sales...

ask anything you want, except for how much i had spent.... just DON'T ask that....

and the pair of jeans with a larger size compared to the previous jeans i bought... from size 00, i am now reaching 1....

i'm thinking what size i need to get 2 months from now... T_T

the trip to chicago was a fun one.. though i have to worry about assignments once in a while during the trip, that din;t stop me from enjoying myself...

and when i am supposed to finish my writing assignments.... i am stuck talking to my friend thru web cam...

all the good things come to an end... :(

i'm now back in bloomington, facing the fact that i still have homework to be done, and finals is just 2 weeks apart....

from now onwards, i'm going to work real hard, to compensate the guilt of spending *ehem* too much during the sales...

less online, less chatting.. more hard work....

and before i go....

TAT, does this look familiar?

pay me $1,000,000 if you want it back.... muahahhahahaha....

Penang....

half way around the globe, i am back to Penang again...

PENANG restaurant in Chicago, that is...

i'm superbly excited over the fact that there is actually a shop named PENANG in Chicago, and it's famous enough to be named as the top restaurant there and have 7 other branches in US....

i am excited, not because i miss Penang food thhaaattt much....

i am excited, as after several frustrating efforts trying to explain where Malaysia is, and what is Penang, there's actually a restaurant in Chicago that explains it all.....

My senior: "There's a restaurant called Penang."
My Chicago friend: " yea, there is.."
Me: " huh, Penang, as in Pinang?>"
My Chicago friend: "herm, well i call it 'Penang', but i guess it is the same as the Pinang u mentioned..."
Me: "Yea, PENANG AS IN PENANG?"
My senior: "yes May, the Penang in Malaysia...."
Me: "OMG OMG, there's whgere i come from!!!"
My Chicago friend: "uuhh?"
My senior: "so, how do find the food there?"
Me (still shocked) : " OMG OMG, there's a PENANG here?"
My Chicago friend: "hehehe, well, the food is a little bit spicy..."
Me: " hohohoh, wait till you come to the real Penang..."
My senior: " Malaysian foods are spicy..."
My Chicago friend: "oh, really? i can't really eat spicy food..."
Me : (still very excited) OMG OMG... there's a Penang in Chicago!!!!....OMG OMg omg omg omg..."

a very interesting conversation....

anyways....

and so, i made up mind to have my dinner there, and eat there we did... =)

how's the food????

well, when u have been eating nothing asian for the past 3 months...

THE FOOD IS SOOO AWESOME!!

but of course, nothing can beat the real deal.... x(

and if you check out the menu, u will find that the price is nothing like Penang at all....

but still.... it's an experience money can't buy.....

and how's Chicago????

one word: fun.....

cuz hello? i was stranded in the ever so ulu Bloomington for like forever...... =)

and till i get back to B-town, i will:
  • enjoy myself even more
  • BLACK FRIDAY sales!!!
  • meet up my friends
  • enjoy even more again
  • do my homework cuz it's due right after the break.... -_-"
sigh..... fun moments never last long..... >.<

i remember...

i remember, very clearly....

  • when i used to eat nasi lemak daun pisang at Subaidah during the wee hours in the morning ....
  • when i used to eat hot steamy bah kut teh on a cold rainy day at Sungai Nibong....
  • when i used to order nothing else but Hu Tau Bee Hoon whenever i have an ulcer or sore throat at Bayan Lepas, even though the queue is always very frustrating....
  • when i used to eat nasi kandar at Pulau Tikus's mamak stall at night, and i always compliment how good it was despite the disgusting smell of cockroaches....
  • when i used to lepak with friends, ordering the same old roti pisang with teh tarik panas at Pelita after class....
  • when i used to eat Hokkien Mee at Georgetown whenever bro comes back for vacation...ahh.. how could i forget about Oh Jien.....
  • when i used to wait for hours, but it was all worth it for a meal at Muey Chong Kei's.....
  • when i used to lament every time my dad decides to have tomyam (again...), but still i will always end up asking for more rice....
  • when i used to have duck rice at Super Tanker whenever we ran out of ideas of where to have our meals...
  • when i used to walk to buy breakfast, be it Char Mee Hoon or just Roti Canai just because *ehem* what my mom prepared for breakfast was not appealing enough....
  • when i used to eat at Ang Huey Lor whenever we are having a family lunch with my cousins.....
  • when i used to go to the mamak stall at Jelutong for the oh-my-god-it-tastes so good mee goreng on a lazy sunday afternoon.....
  • when i used to eat at the same old Thai restaurant at Crystal Point for the sake of treating a guest to a meal....
  • when i used to had my friday lunches same time same place eating Ban Mee somewhere near my college....
  • when i used to have home-cooked meals by mother that i took for granted....
  • when i used to cook for my family, and even though it din't taste that good, but at least it taste way better and way more healthier than the food here.....
  • when i used to grab my mother to have an awesome, but expensive meal at a fancy restaurant in Queensbay because i know my dad will never ever do that...

  • when i used to worry the least about food.....

yes people, after all those complaints about me gaining those unwanted weight....

i am now complaining about FOOD...

how ironic....

i am officially, FOOD-sick... T_T.....

freshman 15....

"The "freshman fifteen" is a term used in the United States and Canada to describe the weight gained by students during their freshman (first) year of study in college or university. The term refers to the often-reported, yet unsubstantiated claim that freshman typically gain fifteen pounds during their first year.

The purported causes of this weight gain are increased alcohol intake and the consumption of fat and carbohydrate-rich cafeteria-style food and fast food in university dormitories. Many dining halls in United States universities are all-you-can-eat style and have copious dessert options. As well, lack of sleep may cause overeating and weight gain, because it lowers the level of leptin. Staff dieticians in US universities and colleges often put up posters urging healthy eating and hold nutrition seminars, with tips on how to avoid weight gain.
OH MY GOD... this is so true!! =(

after avoiding the scary scale for MONTHS.... (the last time i weigh myself was at the gym, 2-3 months ago....)

and while on the way back to my room, my floormate was weighing herself in the middle of the corridor (don't ask me why she did it in the middle of the floor...)

and so, i stand up on the scale....

*the moment of truth*

56 KG!!!

0.0!!!

i was only 50kg when i came.....

and i was never more than 55kg back in malaysia...

and it took me more than 3 months of torturing 'hot babe' regime to get rid of the excess fat.....

and it took me so much self discipline to restrain myself from eating all the delicacies in penang....

and... and....and....

damn it la... i'm going to the gym tomolo.... >_<
