generation gap

Mom said:
"i see e'one flying even in asia(hk) wearing mask. do get one when u are trvelling back"

I said:
"haha. ok."

But what I really meant (in my head)...
"ier, are u serious? so kolot. plus, isn't it more obvious if i wear mask? will definitely get quarantine straight away."

Moms will always be moms. owh wait. let me rephrase that.

My mom, will always be MY MOM.

an early Happy Mothers' Day wish.

I can't believe how fast time flies now.

One more week till I get done with school.

Two more weeks till I hit home.

we won't appreciate it until we lost it.

So i was reading the all so popular tag-me-tag-you phenomenon that is going around my friends, and this time, it is about high school.

Nope, not going to do the whole tagging thing over here. Just gonna comment on some...

4) Were you given plenty of reminders about your appearance?
haha, was always warned to keep my hair short. but pls, who would folo the rulez wei!

I was a prefect. and yes, I was the one who will come after you when your hair is 1mm beyond the 5cm width plastic thingy when I measure your hair. Looking back, I realized how silly that rule was. When I told other people that such rule exist in my high school, they thought I was in some sort of rehab center with weird rules. Maybe I was, who knows? And owh, is the rule still there?

3) Give one scene where you escaped from being caught/punished.
i was never THAT lucky. the prefect really made me cut my hair, and i cried.
I am sorry if I was the one who did this to you. I never knew how much traumatized such act could cause you. But just so you know, in my humble opinion, it's just hair for god's sake, and they grow! plus, what's a 2mm cut going to make any difference? Anddd, I gotta do what I got to do, though I totally agree with how lame that rule is. whoops.

1) How did high school changed you?
only my best friends did. they taught me to be tougher, and not to be bullied again.

ah, the classic. BEST FRIENDS. I do appreciate you, you and you whom i still keep in touch till today. and i do still feel the reluctance when i said and waved the last goodbye on the last day we met. I hate farewells, I always do. However after an endless cycle of meeting new friends and being separated, I just can't help but wonder.... What's next? Will it be the same? When will we meet again, or should I ask, will we even see each other again? Nevertheless, I do learn from you, and we do have good times, didn't we? =)

2) Sing one verse of your school song.
i only rmb the melody wohhhh.
HAHAHAHA, but seriously, one verse??? hurmmm, let's see...
PCGHS - shan she chang chang, hai shui yang yang???..... (or soemthing like that...)
CLS - merry round the school in ????? da-daa-dumm-daa-dummmm.......

oh boy. sweet memories. =)

the may agency.

see, i did not bluff you. The May Agency does exist. HAH!

counting down the days; excited, not so excited....

While I can't wait to get done and over with classes and grumpy time-wasting group meetings , then hop on the plane and fly home, another part of me is hesitating.

Cuz i am thinking, once I board the plane, I know things will never be the same again once I return.

To my best friends (you know who you are, though I never told you guys) who are graduating this semester....

Good Luck, and Good Bye. Hope to see you soon.

Hope to see you soon.

And hope that things remain the same.

mata ah moi sepet jugak...

it's such a shame that I watched this movie almost 4 years after its release...

how could such an awesome movie escaped my radar just like that?

owh well, as the saying that goes "better be late than never..."

the movie revolves around what culturally known as the 'forbidden' love between two love birds from different races. despite being raised in different family background, they shared the most unimaginable similarities, which bonds them tighter than uhu glue. But eyy, of course, the movie isn't all perfect lovey-dovey.... The two love birds ended up not being able to be with each other - some sad twist that the director decided to add into.

sorry for not being table to describe the film in too much details. i want to protect those 'virgins' from the oomphh i experience when i first watched it.

one word.

bravo.

not only to the super smart, super humble, and super oh-so inspiring director for being able to capture the pure essence among my beloved malaysian culture...

bravo to the super hot actor that made me fell in love with the movie, most of all, fall in love with his character.

whoa, wait.

this is the first time i adore asian actor. malaysian actor, to be precise.

but ah loong, (or Jason, in Sepet) is so romantic and cute that makes my heart melt everytime I stare at his character with awe...

and to Yasmin Ahmad whose down-to-earth, brilliantly written blog has been loyally followed by ah moi.

bravo. simply bravo

Next up? Gubra, and Mukhsin.

movies, anyone? =)

couldn't be any prouder to be a malaysian.

my roommate has been deported.

no, this is not a joke.

so, after one of my random weekday's nap, i was told, (not to mention shocked) with the fact that my roommate is going back to malaysia.

the conversation pretty much went like this

"May, guess what?"
"What?"
"I'm going back to Malaysia"
"Good for you. Summer 1 or summer 2?"
"No, this Saturday"
"It's still January. You're too early for April Fool's joke"
"I am serious"
"..."

Yeah, imagine me, just woke up from a not so satisfying nap; feeling a little dizzy, and then this news came as a big slap on my face.

Why? Why? Why?

apparently some people (by people i mean the international office and the people in the embassy) totally screw up her visa transition (from an A-2 to a F-1); and technically she has been an illegal immigrant ever since her parents went back to M'sia.

pushing the blame on one another, my roommate is the victim in the very end. and no, it doesn't end there, she was the one who needs to take all the bloody scoldings and yellings and blamings from (i) her dad (ii) the embassy (iii) the international office.

well, at first it doesn't sound that bad at first. cuz her dad seems to have a range of very very impressive contacts, ranging from consulate-generals to ambassadors of the whole wide world... and their first assurance was... 'Nothing one la, can solve it here and then..."

Bullshit.

anyhoos, realizing that there's nothing else she could do but to go back and settle things there, we ended up rushing all over the places to get the paperwork done, before rushing to the airport to catch the very last minute flight back to m'sia.

what an adventure.

sounds familiar?

i was stuck in a pretty much similar situation back in London, remember?

mine wasn't that bad after all, when i think about it.

cuz u see, after my roomie's parent's return to m'sia, she can only stay in the US of A for 45 days, and if she exceeds the 45-days period, she would need to face the consequences of being barred from entering US of A for 5-10 years. Owh, this is the part you shouldn't miss..... SHE COULD BE ENDED UP IN JAILED B'CUZ OF THAT.

you might think.. "wah, your roommate so messed up one ar?"

pardon me, cuz based on the explanation she gave me, it seems like she was the one being tossed around like a ball, being told different things to do by different people, and when this shit happens, they all put the blame on her...

great.

i am grateful, though i felt really bad for her, and since my London experience is nothing, like seriously, nothing compared to her current shitty situation. and yes of cuz, i did my very best to help her out....

how???

i skipped my work (not my class, i swear to god), begged for my friend's car, called everyone whom i know can help solve this, and drove minimum 70mph to the airport. (just so u know the speed limit was 55-60mph)...

owh well, this is shall be a lesson to everyone....

DO NOT FUCKING MESS WITH THE IMMIGRATION'S OFFICE!!!

it ends soon.

geez, wasn't it just yesterday that my winter break started?

i have to say buh-bye now...

bye to nice, worry+stress+kiasu - free break...
bye to the spankin new honda civic my friend assigned to look after...
bye to not having to walk in the bloody cold winter to the gym...
bye to reading all those leisure books without feeling guilty...
bye to annoying-customer-free + not having to slave myself weekends...
bye to sleeping+waking up late days...
bye to all the list of things to do before break starts... (no, i didn't complete them, i just have to create a new one)
bye to the boredom i enjoy so much compared to the hectic life...

buh-bye to all these fanciness i am enjoying now, and hello reality.

hello to everyone coming back from their break...
hello to boring textbooks, crazy schedules and non-stop studies...
hello bus schedule+driver+crowded bus...
hello snow that stuck on my shoes when i walked to anywhere...
hello schoolbag that i had ditched aside for quite sometime...
hello advisers, resumes, application forms, cover letters...
hello interviews (if i ever got one)
hello funky colleagues and customers that i hate so much...

hello to the harsh reality that i had been avoiding, and buh-bye procrastination.

ice skating

Although I had been here for almost 2 years now, this is the first time i went ice-skating.

the last time i skated? Never.

Before I had the chance to experience ice-skating at Bukit Jambul, they decided to go bankrupt and didn't give me a chance to do so.

though i clumsily roller-blade at home when i was young, i never went anywhere beyond 50m mark.

it's sad, i know. owh well.

originally planned as a farewell party to some of my co-workers who are studying abroad, it ended up with only 3 of us who attended.

the top workers in commom's : me, mary and jill

cannot blame others also la, WHO THE HELL SEND THE INVITATION 2 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT?

nevertheless, we had fun.

as least my friends did.

cuz i fell very sia-suily, and ridiculously so many times that I have lost count...

and they had to ask, "which time that she fell were you talking about?"

anddd, surprise surprise, who is the talk of the cafe now?

....

i don't see the fun of skating round and round the ring, but yeah, it's somewhat, addictive.

yes, my butt ached like hell the next day.

and since then, i lose stability even when i am just walking on normal pavement; i fell the next day again, on the icy road....

butt, i had a pretty amazing experience (not the falling down part, but the ice skating part) =)

and owh, who would have thought that's much more to offer in bloomington than just a shopping mall and beautiful sceneries...

it's winter break ya'll! cheers!

Sunday, November 30, 2008

whoa.

yea, i know, this pic appeared for like gazillion times on my blog. don't have to remind me that.

you know why?

cuz i haven't meet them for more than a year now. and as for corrinne, make it two.

thanksgiving break is over.

did i had a good break? i don't know.

was it a bad one? i don't know.

what i do know is, starting tomorrow, i shall be MIA for 10 days, scratching my brains off working on a business case, in hope of pushing my grades up. wayy wayy up.

in the meantime, i am:
  • craving for macedonia nut white chocolate cookies
  • thinking what to do for winter
  • planning whether should i go back in summer
  • still craving for cookies....
ciao, people!

Saturday, November 15, 2008

it's not that i did not study.

could it be that i did not put in enough effort?

or maybe i am just stupid.

owh well.

Monday, November 10, 2008

it's been quite some time, pardon me for being busy.

"As long as you are happy, everyday can be your birthday."
-quote, mom

true.

we wait 364 days just to feel happy and special, annd owh, not forget to mention, to feel old?

no way.

i'mma make everyday of my life my birthday.

so yes, ah moi has officially turned 19. one more year and i'll hit the BIG20.

in a way i can't wait to reach 21 and hit the bars, but at the same time i can't believe that i am almost 20.

how freaky it is. to dream about being a young and helpless kid, and having to wake up and face reality that u are flying solo now.

whoooo......

nehoos, no time and patience for me to drag on this nonsense, and old rule applies, i shall let the pictures do the talking.

-sneaky sneaky-

-SURPRISE!-

-totally unprepared and therefore looks like some crazy women-

-down, baby down-

-round one, new invented smack ur face tradition-

May dearest

"Remember....
Don't over drink and do all things MODERATELY.
Happiness always." -quote, MOM

Oh my, now I am giving everyone an impression that:-

  1. I drink a lot.
  2. I party too much.
  3. I do not know how to control myself.

..........

Puh-lease.

  • I haven't drink any alcoholic drinks for the past 6 days.
  • I didn't even party on Halloween. I slept at 9pm.
  • I managed to resist temptation on buying that bar of candy, and I forced myself to the gym.

So, now, I will smack any son of a gun who thinks I am a wild party cougar.

I am still a naive, innocent me. *fingers crossed*

Thank you.

no, no go away

the weather has been pretty chilly lately.

and i am surrounded with sick people lately.

sick people in class. sick people at work.

heck, my roomie is sick herself.

NO. I WOULD NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO BE.

sick during your own birthday is so pathetic.

i shall take good care of myself.

the world thru my mind

it never occurs to me, the real definition of my blog title.

the world thru my mind. maybe i am being too rational.

it's time to change, to view the world thru your heart.

blame it on pms, i don't care. i am experiencing the most absurd fluctuation of feelings lately.

emo, they said.

probably. with exam barely over for a week, we are back to square one, picking up where we left, and hop hop off we go again.

how sad. other people are enjoying their fall break. i'm just asking you to take it slower.

bah, back to the hectic life. same old, same old.

but at the same time, i am having a fresh new perspective on human nature lately.

it amazes me how individuals, humans can be so different from one another.

how people can do some things, or even react in the most unimaginable way.

ah, fascinating.

i see how people can be so selfish, so introvert, so smart, so childish, so innocent, so cunning, so mature, so likable, so kind, so irritating, so mean, so shallow, so knowledgeable....

so amazing.

although i know everyone is different, it never occurred to me this way, and most of all, it never affects how i feel this much.

owh well, i guess all these 'emo' ness is my pms talking.

on a second thought, i am wondering what kind of person am i projecting to other people?

and most importantly, what kind of person do i want people to know me as?

any thoughts to share?

although I ave to work the next day, I seem to be coping pretty well.

not for my dear colleague though.

she looks as if she is more wasted than I do.

hurrrrmmmm, I wonder what she was doing the night before.

never once did i ever thought about wearing a man's shirt would create such controversy.

no, this is not the shirt of some random guy that i slept with; this is MY shirt, k?
