what does it actually mean?

what does it mean,

when a guy insists on buying you a cake on your birthday? even when he knows you already had one, and your friend kept insisting that there is no need for another...

what does it mean,

when the guy actually bought the cake, and together with a box of (your favorite) booze?

what does it mean,

when the guy remain anonymous about the gifts, and did not attend your birthday party, despite invitationSSS?

what does it mean,

when the guy acted as if he never bought the gifts, and when you ask him about it, as well as the incident that your other friend (the messenger) accidentally drop his gift (the booze, not the cake), he became a littleeee upset about it?

i am a sucker at this, pardon me. but seriously, what does it mean???

and....

what do you do,

when you don't really understand/get/ignorant about what's happening?

what do you do,

when you do have a 'thing' about this guy, but somehow, something just ain't right?
(ain't right as in you thought he has a girlfriend and then you overhead and overthink about some juicy gossip over a party that they may no longer be together?)

What do you do,

when a part of you kept telling you that whatever the guy did was just a matter of (sweet) gesture, and nothing more?

well, pardon me again for being such a sucker at this. but seriously, what do you do???

i am 20.

i suddenly felt old. i mean, no offense to those who are oldER, but i definitely felt old.

wow, how far my life has come. 20 years is a long journey.

looking back 10 years ago, would i imagine where i end up today? No.

imagining what will happen to me in another 10 years? I can't.

wow. this, is my life. dying every second, without stopping.

tick tock tick tock.

okay, i have 15 mins...

before my exam.

whoa, it's been almost 4 months since i last blogged. that kinda explained one hell of a summer i have had eh? =D

yea, it's true. i had a fucking awesome summer. so good that i am still, technically in summer mood, minus the fact that i am swamped with school stuff, and that it's 10 celcius out there. mehhh, :(

the past summer had been crazy; i won't say i enjoyed it 100% to the max, but i just wisk it was longer. i guess it's just typical me; i don't appreciate stuffs until it is too late, i.e. NOW.

it got me thinking real hard too. home is such a great place to be. yeahh yeahh; the job prospect part and all is bullshit, the government stinks, the people need to have better mentality..

ya dah yaa dahh yaa....

but wait, is it really all good and no bad overseas? is america's grass any greener? the moon any brighter? the stars any shinier?

i've been thinking, wondering, pondering, assuming and dreaming....

home is still the best.

and cuz of that, i am thinking again. about my future, and my plan for the future.

=)

will share with you all more on my thoughts later, gtg for my exam, wish me luck! =)

john legend - everybody knows

cause everybody knows, that nobody really knows,
how to make it work, or how to ease the hurt;
we've heard it all before, that everybody knows,
how to make it right, i wish we gave it one more try...

one more try...

one more try...

cause everybody knows, that nobody really knows.

i was restless ever since i got home, and it has been a month.

but guess what, it feels like i didn't achieve much for the past 30 days....

i guess i'll just have to be more restless then. =)

how's penang you ask?

  • the food remain awesome
  • the government office remain inefficient
  • you can still smell the public toilet from miles away
  • my parents looked older, especially my dad (which makes me saddd)
  • my nieces an nephews are soon gonna be taller than me
  • the drivers are still that insane, if not worse
  • things are becoming more expensive
  • my maid went home for a month and i actually do miss her
  • my room/house is still very messy; my luggage left unpacked
  • my white car is still (hanging) there; dad doesn't take much care of his car
  • the weather is so hot, hot, hot!!!
  • the roads are bumpier than ever
  • the newspaper remains the same
  • more crimes are happening each day
  • me and my friends are moving on our own lives and we are actually drifting apart
  • generation gap, the way i see it is getting wider

  • and yet, some things never change...

i'm pregant

not with a human zygote,

but with my side project, known as the photoblog.

it is the same as this blog, just that it is condensed in 5 photos, and maybe a couple lines of text.

enjoy:

http://www.photoblog.com/szemay/

and just in case u are wondering, yes, i will (try) not to copy-and-paste other people's photo in my baby project, and yes, i have yet to invest in a supa-dupa slr camera, so all the photos were taken with my humble samsung 4mp, 4 years old digital camera.

it's the skills that matters after all, ey? *sour grape*

synergy.

in business terms, when you manage to add 2 + 2 = 5, that's when you achieve synergy.

in my own terms, however, synergy is achieved through:

stinginess (that runs in my blood)

+

my craving for the latest gadget (which changes all the time that i can't afford to catch up)

=

being top in the game yet being thrifty at the same time

so i guess i have to stick to my crappy 2005 samsung 4.0 mp digital camera and rely on my creativity to come up with awesome pictures.....

while i continue to salivate for a *ehem try to sound pro* nikon D40 SLR digital camera.

will test use my photography skill with my samsung tomorrow during my muka head trip. then i'll decide.

Sunday, May 17, 2009

so i am home...

and instead of saying: "welcome home..."

what they said was: "whoa, lu pui ki liao!!!" (translation: whoa, you become so fat?!)

yea, i admit, i did put on some weight, but eyy! it is simply unnecessary to announce it loud and clear - and right to my face, ok?

geez, need to exercise soon. real soon. >.<

spring commencement 2009

all the good things come to an end. owh did i not mention it before?

what a better way to end the semester than to celebrate the graduation of, who else, but the seniors?

It's funny, cuz although it's not my graduation, but it seems like i am more jiwang than the rest who are, graduating.

cuz owh, haven't I mentioned before as well, that my close pals are graduating this semester?

graduating, in other words - going our own separate ways....

crazzzzyyyy indo friends from chicago

M - the (hot) thai guy whom i first met wayy back on my second day of calss in iub

Kia-su Singaporean(just kidding) and Joy, from China

the ones that i will miss most when they pursue their own dreams... (sadd)

"i will miss your car more than you, shiling" JUST KIDDING!

Besties! my college life will be so dull w/o my party buddy!

out of sudden, I find myself become part of the indonesian community

owh well, all things come to an end.

no matter what road you'll be taking, i'm wishing you all the best.

till we meet again,

GOOD LUCK, and
GOOD BYE.

holleyyy shiett...

According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:
  • fever, which is usually high
  • cough
  • runny nose or stuffy nose
  • sore throat
  • body aches
  • headache
  • chills
  • fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
  • diarrhea and vomiting (sometimes)

Let me see, among the list I could currently relate myself to...
  • fever, which is usually high
  • cough
  • runny nose or stuffy nose
  • sore throat
  • body aches
  • headache
  • chills
  • fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
  • diarrhea and vomiting (sometimes)

Whoopps.
-owh, those were symptoms oft i swine flu? I have always thought that that they are due to Corporate Finance final exam acute syndrome.-

one more to go.

approx 20 more hours till...

FREEDOM!
summer bayybeh!

at the meantime, I have a lot more crunching to do. (Finance, has never been this awful.)

and for some reason, i remembered a short-term nickname my college mates used to give me:

DAI MUI (大妹)

I can't remember how and why I get that nickname, heck, I don't even know what it means...

so a random google search brought me to this: -

大妹竟然是只猪?!

swt.... -____-"

p/s: ai phia jia eh ia... pia ahhh!!!

(all good things) come to an end

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end

So sang Nelly Furtado's song.

One more week to go, (as a matter of that, less than that) most of us will be done with exams, summer vacation starts, and we will go on our own separate ways.

We will be separated for several months, but for my friends who are graduating, I don't know how long will we be separated.

Isn't it sad, and freaky? To realized how fast time had past?

to my best crazy friends who are graduating this semester...

I wish you all the best, and we will keep in touch, aight?

3 more papers to go, come on, you can do it! x)

generation gap

Mom said:
"i see e'one flying even in asia(hk) wearing mask. do get one when u are trvelling back"

I said:
"haha. ok."

But what I really meant (in my head)...
"ier, are u serious? so kolot. plus, isn't it more obvious if i wear mask? will definitely get quarantine straight away."

Moms will always be moms. owh wait. let me rephrase that.

My mom, will always be MY MOM.

an early Happy Mothers' Day wish.

I can't believe how fast time flies now.

One more week till I get done with school.

Two more weeks till I hit home.

we won't appreciate it until we lost it.

So i was reading the all so popular tag-me-tag-you phenomenon that is going around my friends, and this time, it is about high school.

Nope, not going to do the whole tagging thing over here. Just gonna comment on some...

4) Were you given plenty of reminders about your appearance?
haha, was always warned to keep my hair short. but pls, who would folo the rulez wei!

I was a prefect. and yes, I was the one who will come after you when your hair is 1mm beyond the 5cm width plastic thingy when I measure your hair. Looking back, I realized how silly that rule was. When I told other people that such rule exist in my high school, they thought I was in some sort of rehab center with weird rules. Maybe I was, who knows? And owh, is the rule still there?

3) Give one scene where you escaped from being caught/punished.
i was never THAT lucky. the prefect really made me cut my hair, and i cried.
I am sorry if I was the one who did this to you. I never knew how much traumatized such act could cause you. But just so you know, in my humble opinion, it's just hair for god's sake, and they grow! plus, what's a 2mm cut going to make any difference? Anddd, I gotta do what I got to do, though I totally agree with how lame that rule is. whoops.

1) How did high school changed you?
only my best friends did. they taught me to be tougher, and not to be bullied again.

ah, the classic. BEST FRIENDS. I do appreciate you, you and you whom i still keep in touch till today. and i do still feel the reluctance when i said and waved the last goodbye on the last day we met. I hate farewells, I always do. However after an endless cycle of meeting new friends and being separated, I just can't help but wonder.... What's next? Will it be the same? When will we meet again, or should I ask, will we even see each other again? Nevertheless, I do learn from you, and we do have good times, didn't we? =)

2) Sing one verse of your school song.
i only rmb the melody wohhhh.
HAHAHAHA, but seriously, one verse??? hurmmm, let's see...
PCGHS - shan she chang chang, hai shui yang yang???..... (or soemthing like that...)
CLS - merry round the school in ????? da-daa-dumm-daa-dummmm.......

oh boy. sweet memories. =)

the may agency.

see, i did not bluff you. The May Agency does exist. HAH!

counting down the days; excited, not so excited....

While I can't wait to get done and over with classes and grumpy time-wasting group meetings , then hop on the plane and fly home, another part of me is hesitating.

Cuz i am thinking, once I board the plane, I know things will never be the same again once I return.

To my best friends (you know who you are, though I never told you guys) who are graduating this semester....

Good Luck, and Good Bye. Hope to see you soon.

Hope to see you soon.

And hope that things remain the same.

so near, yet so far...

so in less than a month, i shall be reunited with my beloved family, friends, and island. ahh....

but in the meantime, let me get over this shiettt, will ya?

by shiettt, i mean:

  • group projects that i don't see myself learning anything from it...
  • final exams which is in a month's time, and where i am so lost in the classes due to me organizing all sorts of shit...
  • parties i consider going during little 5' weekend...
  • farewells: my best friends who are graduating this semester, and god knows what shit lies ahead us?
  • souvenir hunting and packing for my very much anticipated home trip....
till then, thank you for bearing with me, i will try to update my blog more often, how bout that? =)

Loves, hugs, and kisses...
